The main task is taking care of the children and playing with them. As a temporary family member the Au Pair is also expected to participate in light housework, for example, folding the children’s clothes and cleaning the table.

The Au Pair’s primary chore is to take care of the children. Au Pairs work between 20 and 45 hours a week depending on the host country. Host Families provide these working hours and give the possibility to their Au Pairs to attend a language course and have free time to fully enjoy the experience of living abroad.

What kind of Visa do you need? Work Holiday Visa Salary? You are provided for accommodation and food, and pocket money by your host.

Duties and responsibilities of an Au Pair

  • Playing with the children
  • Driving and picking up the kids from school and other activities •Cooking easy recipes
  • Keeping the children's rooms tidy and clean
  • Ironing the children's clothes and do their laundry
  • Helping the children with their homework
  • Putting the kids to sleep
  • Helping the host kids with personal hygiene (tooth brushing, changing diapers etc.)
  • Light shopping
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher

Countries you can aupair and their requirements

  • Being eligible for a Visa and/or a temporary residence.
  • Age: 18-30
  • Language skills: must be able to communicate in English or have a basic knowledge of Polish
  • Clear criminal record
  • Ability to pay for the visa and travel expenses
  • Health insurance valid for the duration of the stay

  • A passport photo
  • All applicants must be between 18-30 years old.
  • The Au Pair contract, describing the terms of the cooperation with the Host Family
  • A language certificate
  • Evidence of a clear criminal record
  • A health certificate
  • An account of the participant’s previous studies and language skills

  • Basic knowledge of French (certificate might be required)
  • Age 18-30
  • High school diploma or document that grants higher education
  • Valid passport
  • Au pair contract
  • Confirmation of enrollment in a French language course for at least three months
  • You can cover your visa and travel expenses (in some cases you might need to present proof of it)
  • Clear criminal record (it is not required for all nationalities)
  • Motivation letter explaining why you would like to learn French

  • Age: 21-40
  • Being eligible for a Visa and/or a residence permit.
  • Language skills: must be able to communicate in English or have a basic knowledge of English. Other languages, especially French, are considered as a plus.
  • Clear criminal record
  • (Portugal calls them child minders since au pairs is not an official program yet, however they encourage the same)
  • The salary is per the law

The Host Family will provide 1 week of paid vacation for a 6-months stay or 2 weeks of paid vacation for a 12-months stay.

  • You are 18 - 30 years old
  • You have a basic knowledge of Spanish. French or English language skills would also be preferred, since some families are looking for someone who can teach those languages to their children.
  • You have at least an intermediate school certificate, a university degree is also a plus
  • You are entitled to a visa
  • You can pay for visa, travel, and other Au Pair expenses

  • Basic German knowledge (you have to present an A1 certificate)
  • Au Pair contract
  • Health insurance valid for the whole stay in Germany (your Host Family will pay for it, but you will need the documents for the visa application)
  • Valid passport
  • Age 18-26
  • You can cover your visa and travel expenses
  • Invitation letter (required for some nationalities)
  • Motivation letter (required for some nationalities)

  • Language skills: good knowledge of English, basic knowledge of your Host Family’s language or one of the three official languages of Luxembourg (Luxembourgish, German, or French)
  • Education: high school diploma
  • Health: in good health
  • Age 18-30 years
  • Marital status: unmarried without children of your own
  • You don’t have any family ties up to the 4th degree inclusive with any of the Host Family members.

  • Age: 17-30 years
  • Language skills: Basic knowledge of the language spoken in the canton in which you will be working. While basic French, German or Italian are useful to help you getting along with the family, it's more important that your native language differs from the Host Family’s.

  • 18 - 30 years old
  • Good English or basic Turkish language skills
  • Able to pay for their travel and other costs
  • Interested in working with kids
  • Interested in living in Turkey for a while

  • Age: 18 - 26 years
  • Good English language skills
  • Not married and no children
  • In good health
  • Willing to stay with a family for a minimum of 1 year
  • Childcare experience of at least 500 hours in the past 2 years
  • Driver’s license and driving experience
  • Clear criminal record
